Become an OCIA Inspector
OCIA is looking to increase its base of organic inspectors around the world.
OCIA-approved organic inspectors are independent, third-party
contractors who enjoy the freedom to set their own fees
and to accept assignments from OCIA, as well as other organic certifiers.
Inspectors can increase their marketability by gaining approval to several of
OCIA's inspection classifications. These inspection classifications are:
- Farm
- Livestock
- Dairy
- Simple Processing
- Complex Processing
- Broker/Trader/Warehouse
- Maple Syrup
- Honey
- Shade-grown Coffee
- Community Grower Crops (CGGs)
To become an OCIA approved inspector, you must meet the qualifications and
criteria outlined in the Training and Obtaining Additional Inspection Approval
Types and complete training conducted by the International Organic Inspectors
Association (IOIA) or an equivalent training.
