How can I support organic agriculture?

When you eat, think about where that food comes from. With each bite you take you contribute to the livelihood of each person in the chain of commerce; the retailer, the distributor, the processor, truckers, and finally the farmers. When you choose to eat organic food you are making more than a financial difference, you are saving the environment one bite at a time. Who knew saving the environment could be so simple and enjoyable?

You can also extend your support beyond the plate by becoming a member of OCIA.


As a member of OCIA, you will become a bigger part of the sustainable food system. You will be directly supporting services for farmers and processors of organic products by contributing towards OCIA's mission and goals. OCIA's goals include:

Professional development of organic farmers and processors through technical assistance, education, publications and research
Providing impartial third party certification through a farmer owned and controlled organization
Guaranteeing the neutrality and integrity of OCIA's certified products to consumers
Maintaining uniform standards and bylaws that govern production, processing manufacturing and practices for trade. OCIA's standards and bylaws define the identity and quality of the organic foods produced within this system.
To promote and clarify the image of OCIA-Certified organic products
